FPA SURVEY INDICATES STRONG RESPONSE TO CONSULTATIONS

A recent survey conducted by the FPA amongst its members indicates that they have understood the implications of the current consultations for the future of their businesses and many of them are set to respond.

Some 88% of members intend submitting a response to both the EPR and Waste Management Consistency consultations, with 50% responding to the DRS consultation.

Almost half will be responding as individuals as well as for their businesses and two thirds are providing their colleagues with templates. A quarter of members responding are sending the template to their entire workforce and an average of 12 colleagues are expected to submit responses.

Executive Director Martin Kersh says: “This is very encouraging and, if replicated across the entire packaging supply chain, we can anticipate the response from business will easily exceed that of previous consultations impacting on packaging. We hope that through exploring aspects of the consultations over the past few weeks members will appreciate the consultations present both opportunities and risks. These consultations will shape member businesses for decades to come and it is vital that our industry engages with them and ensures its voice is heard.”
