A glittering 10th Annual FPA Awards night saw awards presented to Bunzl Catering Supplies (National Distributor), WK Thomas (Regional Distributor), Solo Cup Europe (Manufacturer), Huhtamaki (UK) (Marketing), London Bio Packaging (Sustanability), Costa (Foodservice Operator) and John Young of Huhtamaki (Members' Award). Over £7,000.00 was raised for Springboard and Hospitality Action, smashing our previous record.This year saw an unprecedented level of industry expertise involved in the Awards judging. Held at the yet again excellent Grand Hotel, Brighton we were treated to a superbly entertaining and hilarious cabaret from Bobby Davro and over 360 FPA Members and their guests have were united in claiming the 2013 Awards to be the best ever.

The FPA Code of Practice sets the standard to which FPA Members operate their businesses and their dealings with customers, suppliers and employees.

Shadow Secretary of State for Environment  Mary Creagh  committed a future Labour government to a policy of zero food waste whilst speaking to a packed annual Foodservice Packaging Association Environment Seminar at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Warwick. Mary Creagh (Lab, Wakefield) made the commitment whilst addressing the conference of packaging manufacturers and distributors on issues related to reducing waste and increasing waste stream recovery. Also speaking were Bob Lisney OBE chairman of the Advisory Committee on Packaging, set up to advise DEFRA, Thomas Jelley, Corporate Citizen Manager of Sodexo and Paul Vanston, Manager of The Kent Waste Partnership.
